Lesson: If your best friend ghosts you and then starts bodychecking you on the ice, just wait. He’ll show up at your door with a toddler and an explanation eventually.
Main Thought: The enemies to lovers setup was really good here. I read the entire book in one day because I couldn’t put it down.

When Axel finds out that his old best friend Enzo has joined his hockey team, he is not happy about it. The two used to be close, but Enzo disappeared and has spent every game since throwing him into the boards. What he does not expect is for Enzo to show up at his door, and he definitely does not expect him to show up with a toddler in tow. Three years ago, Enzo’s sister asked for a very specific kind of favor, and our guy had no idea it worked. Enzo, meanwhile, had assumed the worst and spent years furious over something that never happened. Now that Enzo has lost his sister, the two suddenly find themselves raising a child together while also playing on the same team, sleeping down the hall from each other, and trying very hard to ignore the tension.
