Main Thought: After reading Wrong, I wanted to read this for Everly’s story. Everly is definitely entertaining since you never know what she is going to do next. The beginning was back and forth between the present and when she was growing up, but it wasn’t difficult to follow.

Everly has had a crush on Finn since she was six years old. She is constantly scheming to try to get him to notice her as more than his best friend’s younger sister. However, her schemes rarely go according to her plan and the Thanksgiving scheme ends with her in the car with Finn’s brother, Sawyer, heading back to Philadelphia. While Everly thinks Finn is the perfect man for her, Sawyer is convinced that he is the perfect man for her. Will Sawyer be able to win her heart? Will Everly ever give up on Finn?

Lesson: When you see a new doctor, make sure he is the type to become overly protective of you so that he’ll break up with your boyfriend for you.
Main Thought: I wish it was a double POV since there were multiple times where I was wondering what Luke was thinking. There were also some parts that were not concluded by the end of the book. I think Everly was one of my favorite characters and I’m excited to read her story next.

Sophie works at Grind Me, a local coffee shop while she’s finishing college. She has a crush on Luke who stops into the shop once a week for coffee. She decides to go to the school clinic for an exam to get birth control and figures out that Luke is a doctor, and apparently her new doctor. Luke becomes protective of Sophie and finally gives her what she wants, to lose her virginity, after she pushes him enough. Sophie and Luke are from two different worlds. Will Sophie be able to keep up with Luke and his family? Will Luke be able to give Sophie what she needs?

Lesson: The best way to get someone’s attention is in a bathroom stall at a club.
Main Thought: At the beginning I did not like Jaxson, but once he opens up to Dante, you start to feel badly for him. The story was difficult to deal with at times because unfortunately some of these events still happen today. Overall, I really enjoyed the book.

Warning: violent hate crimes

Jaxson is the local sheriff and his father is the mayor. Jaxson it’s gay, but breaks up with his best friend/boyfriend, Kian, because he wants to come out, and Jaxson it’s too afraid. Dante moves to Brigs Ferry Bay with his brother and sister to open a B&B. When Dante tries to make a move on Kian, Jaxson becomes protective. The tension continues to increase until Dante finally takes charge and gives Jaxson what he thinks he needs. While Jaxson and Dante keep their relationship a secret, will they be enough for Dante? Will Jaxson ever decide to come out? As more hate crimes begin in the town, will Jaxson be able to protect the LGBTQIA+ community?

Lesson: Apparently brothers all have the same kinks.
Main Thought: I love the further development of all 3 Heller Brothers and their relationships. I really liked the different problems that each brother was going through and how they all reacted to it.

Jase, Tag, Logan, and Matt are all off for Christmas and go back to Winnipeg to celebrate the holiday as a family. Jase and Remi receive news from Brianne before they leave that leaves Jase putting pressure on Remi. Tag and Kyla have their own surprising news that they are dealing with. Logan and Nicole are still dealing with their new relationship. Each couple explores and deepened their relationship.

Lesson: Third time’s the charm. Just trust the third guy even if you’re on a dark ranch by yourself in the middle of the night.
Main Thought: The first third and last third of the book were really good, but the middle was slow. I enjoyed the way Charlie reasoned with herself about her past. The ending was disappointing, but made me want to read the next book to see how the series will end.

Charlie was married to Jeff who was manipulative and abusive. Charlie finally plans to run away and manages to escape. However, covering her tracks and being in the move isn’t easy. She ends up getting robbed and has to hitchhike the rest of the way. Charlie ends up running from the driver on a street in Texas and finds a ranch. She hopes that they will help her avoid the driver, but they end up giving her even more. How will Charlie adjust to life on her own? Will she be happy on the ranch or still continue onto the big city?

Main Thought: I love the hockey references. Reading this while the Isles are playing the Canes makes me think of all the times the Staal brothers played against each other. I can’t even image what that is like for the families.

Remi was finally on her own after her siblings moved out and her friends took her out for the night. She wasn’t planning to meet a guy, but her friend wasn’t giving up. Remi walked up to a group of guys and asked one of them to help her by talking to her. One thing led to another and she brought him home. Remi then saw Jase at her school for the Stars for Reading program. She didn’t like that he never called and Jase didn’t like teachers. When they have to work together every week can they resist each other?
