The book picks up at the end of Reece. Ruth is planning Charlie and Reece’s wedding. Ruth and Charlie moved to Austin while Reece and Jeremiah worked on rebuilding the house on the ranch. Ruth needs to run errands, but her car breaks down so Jeremiah helps her. However, when a storm comes in they get stuck in the car overnight. There’s only one way for them to kill time and get out their frustrations. How will things change when they go back tomorrow? Will they ever be able to let their guard down?
