Kat was Emily’s best friend and Nick was Emily’s brother. Nick, Emily, and Kat were best friends until Nick moved to Seattle. Emily left custody to Kat and Nick as long as they were going to raise Piper together. They decide to let Piper decide if she would rather stay in Miami or move to Seattle. Unfortunately, Kat needs to move to Seattle and uproot her entire life. Nick and Kat need to deal with the tension from their past while raising Piper.
